About Bermuda Run

Bermuda Run is a town in Davie County on the western bank of the Yadkin River, linking Davie and Forsyth counties. It was incorporated in 1999 as a gated residential community built around the Bermuda Run Country Club, later annexed the Hillsdale commercial area and, in 2012, the Kinderton Village neighborhood. The 2020 census counted 3,120 residents. Housing ranges from 1970s and 1980s golf-course homes and condos to newer construction.

Water and sewer

Water and sewer in Bermuda Run are provided and billed by Davie County (Town of Bermuda Run, Water & Sewer Service). In 2026 Davie County's new water treatment plant in Cooleemee, which draws from the Yadkin River, took over supply for much of the county's system, including Bermuda Run (Davie County Enterprise Record, Sept. 3, 2026). As with any utility, the private service line from the meter and the plumbing inside the house belong to the owner.

The plumbing problems we hear about in Bermuda Run

Older golf-course homes and condos

Homes and condos from the 1970s and 1980s may have original copper with pinhole leaks, polybutylene from the late 1970s onward, or original cast-iron drains. In condos and attached homes, a leak can affect a neighbor's unit, and the line between owner and association responsibility depends on the governing documents. See leak repair and repiping.

Second homes and seasonal use

Homes left empty for weeks can develop dry traps, sticky valves and unnoticed leaks. Shutting off the main water when away, or installing a leak sensor or automatic shut-off valve, protects against coming home to a flood.

Water heaters and remodels

Many owners are updating older kitchens and baths, which is the best time to replace aging supply lines and shut-off valves. Tankless water heaters are a common request; gas units often need venting and gas line changes. See water heaters.

Newer construction

In Kinderton Village and newer neighborhoods, the usual calls involve fixtures, water heaters, irrigation backflow devices and builder-grade supply lines.

Drains

Kitchen grease and wipes cause most clogs; roots from mature landscaping affect older laterals. See drain cleaning.
